Long jumper Ian Lowe upset Richard Duncan last month at the Olympic trials
to qualify for the Games and earn his first career national crown after
being runner-up in 1999 and 1997. Lowe is a two-time Francophone Games
team member. In fact he made his international debut at those Games in
1994 in Paris finishing ninth. Last year he competed at the world
championships in Spain. He currently studies sociology at Concordia
University in Montreal and ambitions a career as a financial advisor.
