Backstreet losing album sales record to 'N Sync

The competition between the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync continues.

From the looks of the first week album sales figures of 'N Sync's "No Strings Attached," (which goes on sale Tuesday, March 21), 'N Sync might break the Backstreet Boys' record, Worldpop reports.

The Boys were the first act to sell over a million albums in the first week of release in the U.S., as "Millennium" sold 1.1 million copies during its debut.

"No Strings Attached" could break that record because four million copies of 'N Sync's latest album have been shipped off to record stores already.

"No Strings Attached" is the first album from 'N Sync in two years.
