Backstreet set to beat *Nsync

The Backstreet Boys could be on the verge of setting a new sales record.

The group is set to release "Black and Blue," on Nov. 21, and pre-orders for the group's latest album have already reached five million, Music 365 reports.

If more than half of the pre-ordered copies are sold during the first week of "Black And Blue's" release, that would mean Backstreet would break *Nsync's first-week sales record of 2.4 million copies.

"Shape Of My Heart", the first single from "Black And Blue", will be in stores Nov. 6.

Meanwhile, on the day the album is released, Howie, A.J., Kevin, Brian and Nick plan to hit six continents during a promotional tour.
