The boy-band is the best-selling act of the year according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Wall of Sound reports.

The Backstreet Boys' album, "Millennium" achieved diamond status which means 10 million copies of the album were shipped. Britney Spears' debut album, "Baby One More Time," also got the diamond nod.

Another teen pop-star, Christina Aguilera, made a respectable showing with her quadruple-platinum debut album.
