Mel snubs steps
Mel C is handing out insults to other UK pop acts.
Sporty Spice said that Steps, who won Best Selling Live Act at the Brit Awards on Friday for their sell-out tour last year, are 'great entertainment' but aren't very serious musicians, Dotmusic reports.
"They don't write their own material," Mel said. "They're not serious musicians. They don't even play with a live band on tour, so don't put them in the same category as someone like me."
A Steps' spokesman was apparently offended by the Spice Girl's comment.
"Steps most recent album, 'Steptacular' has so far sold 1.5 million copies," he said. "I doubt if Mel C's solo album has sold that many - so don't put her in the same category as the band."
Mel is reportedly already working on a new rock album and Steps will release their next single, "Deeper Shade of Blue," on April 10 in the UK.
