Mel C kicks Geri out of no. 1

Mel C knocked her former band-mate off the top of the UK charts last weekend.

Sporty Spice's solo effort, "Never Be The Same Again" (featuring Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes), knocked Geri Halliwell's "Bag It Up" from the number one slot on the UK charts, dotmusic reports.

Geri's song slipped down to number four, while Moloko's "The Time Is Now" and Santana's "Smooth" went to number two and three.

"Never Be The Same Again" marks the first time one of Mel's solo singles from her album "Northern Star" reached number 1.

In more Mel news, Kian Egan of Westlife is saying that the Spice Girl looks more like a Spice boy, and rumours are that Mel's new boyfriend, J from Five won't be happy about the insult.

"She's rough," Kian said about Mel. "I can't understand why they are dating. She looks like a man. It must be a stunt. I just can't believe it's true."
