Mel C to tour

Mel C is gearing up for a solo tour.

Mel C (a.k.a. Sporty Spice) is expected to announce UK tour dates this week to promote her debut solo album "Northern Star," Dotmusic reports.

About 20 concert dates will make up Mel's tour. No one is saying how it will affect the Spice Girls' next album that's scheduled for release this year.

Mel earned her first solo number 1 in the UK this week with "Never Be The Same Again", featuring Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes.
