Baby Spice in court
Spice Girl Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) is expected in court today.
As AllPop reported earlier this week, The Spice Girls are being sued by an Italian Scooter company. The company claims that its marketing plans fell through when Geri Halliwell left the group.
"When Geri left, all our brochures, advertising material and the logo became obsolete. A very expensive commercial of the girls became unusable," Rossana Fuzzi, advertising manager for Aprilia said in court Dotmusic reports.
"Young people would not want to be seen riding a product carrying a logo which was considered to be out of date. This is what I would call a total marketing flop."
According to MTV, Aprilia decided to sue the group after Geri's autobiography "If Only," was published.
The company claims that the biography proves Posh, Scary, Sporty and Baby Spice new Geri planned to leave the group although Aprilia had no idea.
The case is expected to last eight days and the rest of the Spice Girls and Geri could appear on the stand.
