Posh Spice defends husband

Posh Spice is defending her husband's fiery reaction to nasty football fans.

Victoria Beckham said she supports her husband, David Beckham, (a U.K. football star) and tries to forget about abuse he takes from drunken fans, the Press Association reports.

After a game in Portugal, some drunken sports fans yelled abuse at David, who gave them a nasty hand gesture that upset some other fans.

"He went over to applaud the crowd, to thank them for coming, and that's the thanks he gets," Victoria said.

The Spice Girl went on to explain why her husband is a good person who shouldn't be attacked for a rude gesture.

"He's not going out getting drunk every night," she said. "All he ever does is play fantastic football and talk about how much he loves his family. That's a good role model."
