Spice and ex-Spice find a cause

By STEPHANIE McGRATH

Posh and former Ginger Spice may not sing the same songs anymore, but they both sing the same tune when it comes to life-threatening disease - fight it.

Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham, launched a new meningitis awareness campaign in Britain on Tuesday. A report in "Wall of Sound" says part of Posh's concern about the disease is because of her new child, Brooklyn. Posh says she herself had a meningitis scare when she was 7 years old.

The meningitis awareness initiative follows some recent cases in northern England. The government is due to launch a plan to vaccinate all children in Britain against the meningitis C strain by next easter.

Meanwhile, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is supporting her own cause. According to a report in Music 365, Halliwell says she'll donate all proceeds from her autobiography "If Only" to Breast Cancer Care. Like Posh, Halliwell had her own health scare seven years ago. Luckily for her, she didn't have breast cancer, but she's never forgotten about it.

The book will be in stores by Oct. 13. "If Only" will talk about Halliwell's life in Spice as well as her pre-fame days.
