Spice Girls' record company gets apology

Pregnant Spice Girls didn't cause fury.

A report in Reuters said The Daily Mail apologized to Virgin Records on Wednesday.

Last year, the paper reported that Virgin Records management was "furious" about the pregnancies of Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice).

The article was printed in August 1998 and The Daily Mail's lawyer told the court it was published in good faith.

Anna Killick, Virgin's lawyer, said the article suggested that Virgin was only worried about the disruption two babies would cause in the Spice Girls' promotional plans.

She said Virgin was actually an understanding record company that cared about its artists.

Lawyers for Virgin Records said The Daily Mail apologized for the article and also agreed to pay damages and Virgin's legal costs.
