Spice news

Spice Girl, Mel C (a.k.a. Sporty Spice) isn't happy about the U.K.'s No. 1 single.

Sir Cliff Richard is currently on the top of the charts in the U.K. with "Millennium Prayer" -- a combination of "The Lord's Prayer" and "Auld Lang Syne" -- but Mel C has a lot of criticisms about the song, Dotmusic reports.

"It's nothing new. It's put together very cheaply and it's ripping off the fans," she said. "If it was any good, I'd say 'Good on you Cliff," but it's not, it's terrible," Mel said.

In more Spice news, the four singers did some Christmas shopping last week.

Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) is giving her sister and brother matching cars, while Mel C bought a new house for her mother.

Victoria and her husband, David Beckham, spent $78,000 on a child-sized Ferrari for their son Brooklyn, Reuters reports. The toy comes complete with a CD player and leather seats, and Brooklyn will have his own set of keys to start the car -- although his parents have a controller to stear it if they need to.

Meanwhile, the girls are finishing up their newest album, The English Sun reports.

"We're going to finish our third album in the first few weeks of the new year, fingers crossed," Mel B said.

Mel C. said the new album will be different from the first two Spice albums, which earned the group seven no. 1 singles.

"There are a lot more tracks from different styles, " Mel C said. "We've got dance stuff, R&B and ballads - a real mixture which we hope the fans will like. The Spice Girls have moved on and so has our sound."

The Spice Girls are currently on a short UK tour. Fans who can't fly to the UK for a live performance can go here on Tuesday (Dec. 14) to watch a live webcast.
