Robbie gearing up for new album

Robbie Williams is gearing up for a new album and a new sound.

The UK pop star is working with several different writers and musicians on his upcoming album, Dotmusic reports.

Robbie will be working with artists like MC Q-Tip (formerly of A Tribe Called Quest) and a member of Candy Flip, as well as Kelvin Andrews. Robbie worked on a track for Kelvin's album, "Sound 5", so Kelvin is going to return the favour.

Guy Chambers, Robbie's long-time writing partner, will also be collaborating on the album.

In more Robbie news, the singer is creating gossip with a recent split from his girlfriend, UK TV star Tania Strecker, the London Sun reports.

The two have known one another for years but only started dating at Christmas.

"There have been rows and it's over," said a friend of the couple. "Robbie said he couldn't handle the pressure and felt it wasn't working. He just needs a bit of his own space and went to Los Angeles after the split to clear his head."

The friend went on to explain that the break-up was amicable and that the two are still friends.
