Robbie slams U.K. music

Robbie Williams isn't impressed with the U.K. music scene.

Speaking with MTV, Robbie slammed some modern U.K. music and gave himself a big, fat pat on the back, dotmusic reports.

"I think the best music is coming out of America at the minute," Robbie said. "The charts in England are a bit. . . well, it is a bit scary. I can't sit and comment on the state of the UK's charts, because I am the UK's charts at the moment. But I was saying to Guy Chambers, my writing partner, the best music is coming out of America, definitely. And England can just kiss my ass."

Robbie, who is a huge star in the U.K. but hasn't quite cracked the U.K. market yet, said his next goal is to conquer the American charts.

Robbie said he likes artists such as Eminem and Dr Dre who he'd love to work with.

"I'd really like to work with Dr Dre," he said."I really, really would. But he looks like a scary person. 'Hello, Mr Dre? Doctor? I'm Robbie. Robbie Williams from England. Like to work with you. Don't kill me.' That's how I think the relationship would go."
