Will Robbie usher in 2000?
U.K. pop star Robbie Williams might have created the Millennium's anthem.
According to Music 365, Robbie's single "Millennium" is on a shortlist to jump-start the party at London's Millennium Dome on New Year's Eve.
The parties organisers are searching for a song that will fit the moment just before the Queen opens the Dome at 23:45 GMT.
There is a list of eight possible songs to be played. The songs were decided on through polls. The list will be narrowed down to one lucky winner by a panel made up of musician Jools Holland, English National Opera boss Paul Daniel and the party planners - Mark Fisher and Michael Lockett.
Here's the list of possible songs:
The Beatles - 'All You Need Is Love'
The Rolling Stones - 'It's Only Rock And Roll'
John Lennon - 'Imagine'
Queen - 'We Are The Champions'
Prince - '1999'
Pulp - 'Disco 2000'
Robbie Williams - 'Millennium'
Oasis 'Don't Look Back In Anger'
