"7th Heaven" star thinks about goody-byes

"7th Heaven's" oldest sibling wants to leave the nest.

Barry Watson, who can be seen on the big screen in the comedy "Sorority Boys", has been playing Matt Camden on The WB's wholesome series for a long time, and now he says he doesn't want to return for the seventh season.

"I just want some time to breathe," Matt told EW.com.

Jessica Biel, who plays Matt's younger sister Mary on the show, felt the same way two years ago. She gave herself a break by only appearing on the show part time, although she's back on full-time status this year.

A rep for The WB told EW.com that nothing has been made official.

Jessica regrets racy spread
Jessica Biel, star of the wholesome WB program "7th Heaven", wishes she'd never stripped down for a provocative and controversial photo spread in "Gear" magazine last year.

The 19-year-old actress caused a stir when she posed for the magazine wearing very little clothing, which upset her fans and Aaron Spelling, the big boss of "7th Heaven", the hit show centered around a well-behaved family and their minister father, TV Guide reports.

"I was just being a little brat, going through a really tough time in my personal life," Jessica told TV Guide online about the photo spread. "It was such a huge learning thing, and it's too bad I had to learn it in front of everybody."

Now, Jessica says she's willing to be "a role model".

"It's scary to think that I might have hurt a girl [in] some way by saying something or wearing something [inappropriate]," she said.

Although Jessica appeared on the show only part-time last season, as AllPop previously reported, she's taking a break from her university studies and will be on "7th" full-time this year.

Next up for the actress is the Freddie Prinze Jr. film "Summer Catch", which opens Friday (Aug. 24).

Mary returns to '7th Heaven' full-time

Jessica Biel is returning to her "7th Heaven" home for a full season.

Last season, Jessica, who plays Mary on the morally righteous WB program, did not appear on every episode because she was busy at university, TV Guide reports.

But the actress, who will co-star opposite Freddie Prinze Jr. in this summer's feature "Summer Catch", has decided to take a year off from Tufts University so she can be in every episode of "7th Heaven" this season. Jessica then plans to spend the seventh and eighth season doing guest spots on the drama.

"They told me that they'd really love to have me, and I thought, 'It's not going to last forever," she told TV Guide. "I can always go back to school".

'Seventh Heaven' actor to star in Disney film

Barry Watson, star of TV's "Seventh Heaven," is in talks to star in Disney's campus comedy "Dog House," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Set to begin shooting on March 26, the project already stars Harland Williams ("The Geena Davis Show") and Michael Rosenbaum (TV's "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane"), "Dog House" is the story of three frat brothers who get booted off campus and end up hiding out in drag in a sorority house.

Watson, Williams and Rosenbaum play the three residents of the Delta Omicron Gamma (or D.O.G.) house, where campus girls considered unattractive are sent. When the three troublemakers end up hiding out in the sorority house, they discover how hurtful their conduct has been, the report said.
