The Hamilton Bulldogs have
announced today that Michael Andlauer has become the hockey club’s majority
owner, governor and chairman.
Andlauer, a 39-year-old
Burlington resident, has owned a share of the Hamilton Bulldogs since the hockey
club became the primary affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens back in the summer
of 2002. Andlauer brings a tremendous amount of business experience to the
Bulldogs. In 1991, Andlauer founded ATS-Andlauer Transportation Services Inc.
and is presently its Chief Executive Officer. Andlauer is the President and CEO
of AMG-Andlauer Management Group Inc., which manages and operates several
logistics companies in Canada.
In his role as chairman,
Michael will directly oversee all business operations of the Bulldogs
organization and be responsible for its’ day-to-day operations.
“I am very excited about
the opportunity of taking on a more active role with the Bulldogs organization
and be a more hands on chairman,” said Andlauer. “I look forward to assisting
with the growth of the franchise and continuing our great working relationship
with the Montreal Canadiens.”
As a result, the position
of President will be eliminated. Current President Steve Katzman will accompany
Michael Andlauer to the American Hockey League Annual Meetings at Hilton Head
Island to ensure a smooth transition. “I have relished the challenge of taking
the Bulldogs organization from the infant stages to where it is today,” said
Katzman. “The organization is now poised for a long and bright future, buoyed
by stable ownership and staff who are committed to the team and the community.”
