Tuesday, September 27th - Bulldogs 2 Toronto 5
The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped their pre-season opener 5-2 to
the Toronto Marlies at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium. Jamie Tardif and Cory
Urquhart scored for the Bulldogs. David Turon potted the game-winner for the
Marlies at the 1:54 mark of the second period. The other Marlies goals were
scored by Shaun Landolt, Brett Engelhardt, Martin Sagat and Dominic D’Amour.
Hamilton goaltender Jaroslav Halak stopped 33 shots in a losing cause, while
Todd Ford made 26 saves for Toronto to pick up the win.
Friday, September 30th - Bulldogs 7 Cleveland 4
In front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Welland Arena, the
Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead on goals by Andrei Kostitsyn,
Welland native Jamie Tardif, Derick Martin and Cory Urquhart. The Barons
rallied in the third but fell short as Hamilton picked up their first win of
the pre-season, defeating Cleveland 7-4. Francis Lemieux scored the game-winner
midway through the second period, and Kostitsyn, with his second of the night,
and Michael Lambert added insurance markers to seal the victory. Mike Iggulden,
Riley Armstrong, Marc-Andre Roy, and Josh Hennessy had goals for the Barons.
Olivier Michaud picked up the win for Hamilton, while Brett Jaeger took the
loss for Cleveland.
Sunday, October 2nd - Bulldogs 1 Toronto 4
In their second meeting of the pre-season, the Bulldogs were
once again defeated by the Toronto Marlies, this time by a score of 4-1 at the
Haldimand County Caledonia Centre. The game was tied after the first period
with Luke Fulgham scoring for Toronto and Michael Lambert replying for
Hamilton. With Andrei Kostitsyn serving a five-minute high-sticking major, the
Marlies took the lead on two power-play goals by Dominic D’Amour and Jeremy
Williams. Brendan Bell’s power-play goal 1:27 into the third period rounded out
the scoring. Olivier Michaud and Jeff Deslauriers combined to make 27 saves for
the Bulldogs, while Marlies’ goaltender J-F Racine allowed only one goal on 32
shots.

Wednesday, September 28th

Montreal Canadiens assigned the following players to Hamilton: Andrew
Archer, Jean-Philippe Cote, Andrei Kostitsyn, Corey Locke and Jonathan
Ferland
Thursday, September 29th
- The
Edmonton Oilers assigned Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Jeff Deslauriers, Mathieu
Roy and Jean-Francois Jacques to the Bulldogs.
Saturday, October 1st
- The
Montreal Canadiens traded former Bulldogs LW Marcel Hossa to the New York
Rangers for C Garth Murray. Murray
was later assigned to Hamilton.
Sunday, October 2nd

Grrrowl of the ECHL

Roster
The Bulldogs opening day roster must be submitted to the
American Hockey League offices no later than midnight on Tuesday, October 4th. Hamilton currently has 11 forwards, eight
defencemen, and two goalies on its roster.

Hamilton will open their 10th Anniversary season on Friday,
October 14th, when the Grand Rapids Griffins will visit Copps Coliseum. Game
