Positively Breastfeeding

Tess and her daughter, Simone, had every breastfeeding challenge under the sun, or so it seemed. After receiving a lot of contradictory information, from many well-intentioned sources, they eventually sorted through the information and figured it out together. Simone went on to breastfeed until she weaned herself at 16 mths. Those early memories of frustration stayed with Tess. She proceeded to become a Breastfeeding Consultant and eventually started her own business, Positively Breastfeeding.
Today, through Positively Breastfeeding, Tess assists parents to become well educated about breastfeeding before their baby is born, as well as helping parents work through existing breastfeeding challenges. She facilitates Pre-natal Breastfeeding Classes, The Moms Group, as well as personal in-home consultations.
Tess spent many years working with families in a social service environment. She also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Psychology, a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and has completed the Breastfeeding Program from Mohawk College. She has also been featured on a provincial television program.
Her first love is for her family (just like every mother). Her husband, Guy, and children, Simone, born July 1999, and Luc, born July 2001, keep life busy and exciting.
Being a parent of young children Tess can still remember how wonderful it was to have a new baby in the house, yet how trying and overwhelming it was to work through the breastfeeding difficulties. She joins Canadian Parents Online to help other parents work through some of the infant feeding challenges they face.
