Nutrition Expert
Katie Jessop, B.A.SC, M.Sc., RD

Katie Jessop has a passion for food and healthy eating. Her love of cooking was challenged this year with the birth of her daughter. As a new mother, she has experienced first hand the challenge of choosing healthy foods kids and parent love that fit into our time-challenged world.
As a nutrition educator with the Dairy Farmers of Canada, Katie develops programs and leads workshops for teachers and parents, to support them in their efforts to encourage healthy eating for children.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from the University of Guelph. Her love of teaching nutrition led her to complete a Masters in Health Science in Nutrition at the University of Toronto in 2002. She worked in the food industry for many years, so she has an in-depth knowledge of how packaged foods are produced, developed and marketed. This is especially relevant today, as food companies increasingly target children as consumers.
