FRANK RATCLIFFE MEMORIAL AWARDCommunicationsFrank Ratcliffe had a long career in sports and the media, serving as founding editor of Coaching Review (the forerunner to Coaches Report) and as director of communications for both the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Association. Formerly known as the Doug Gilbert Memorial Award, this award was renamed in Ratcliffe's honour following his untimely death of cancer in 1993. This award is presented annually to an individual or corporation/organization deemed to have made a significant contribution to the Canadian sport system and/or sport governing body, multi-games organization or sport-related organization in the areas of internal communications, public relations, media relations, reporting, broadcasting or promotion.Past Recipients
