For over 25 years Dr. Andrew Pipe has contributed countless hours of volunteer time to promote and secure a fair, ethical, safe and healthy sport environment for Canadian athletes and the entire Canadian sport community.
Since 1991, Dr. Pipe has led the development and implementation of Canada’s response to the doping crisis in sport as the volunteer chair of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. He is one of the most recognized experts in the field of sports doping and reporters around the world seek his comments and expertize when doping issues break out.
Dr. Pipe was recently part of the Canadian delegation for the International Olympic Committee’s conference on doping in sport. He is also a member of the Anti-Doping Arrangement (IADA) Steering Committee, a seven-country alliance to promote drug free sport world wide. As a result of Dr. Pipe’s contributions to sports medecine, he was the first Canadian to receive the IOC’s award for outstanding service in that field.
