The Roland Michener Canada Games AwardThe Roland Michener-Canada Games Award was created in February 1992 to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Canada Games and to recognize the valuable contribution that the late Right Honourable Roland Michener made to Canada and in particular sport and physical activity.Every two years the Roland Michener Canada Games Award is presented to one female and one male Canada Games athlete who exemplifies leadership, cooperation and achievement. The Award memento is a replica of the Roland Michener Commemorative stamp, released by Canada Post Corporation in 1992 to recognize Michener's induction into the Order of Canada. An athletic and educational bursary, to help with the ongoing training and living expenses of young Canada Games participants, accompanies the Award.
