Nominated by Baseball CanadaHit-Run-Throw, a Canada-wide grassroots program, is sponsored by Honda Canada and its dealers and is delivered by Baseball Canada and its provincial and territorial member associations. In 1999, 50,000 youngsters participated in this program at 500 locations across Canada. In addition to its direct investment in program delivery, Honda provides advertising services, promotional materials, 14 vehicles, a 1-800 referral service, in-stadium and in-broadcast promotions at Blue Jays baseball games, and a full-time staff person to facilitate partnerships between Honda dealers and local baseball groups. As a result of Honda Canada's commitment and investment, media coverage of the Hit-Run-Throw program has nearly doubled since 1996.
