  • Nike Canada Ltd.

Nominated by Canada Basketball and Rowing Canada Aviron

Nike is an all-round booster of Canada Basketball, and their corporate support goes far beyond Nike's business goal of "making the sale." Nike uses its influence in the sports industry to inspire elite basketball players and to support programs that develop national team players of the future. In addition to supplying gear to national teams, Nike provides national basketball team players with media training, is a founding partner of the Future Hoops program, is the lead partner in the Nike All-Canada Camp for high-school-aged men and women, and is the title sponsor of the Canadian Junior and Juvenile championships. In 1999, Nike offered its corporate and creative services to Canada Basketball to develop a new corporate identity and team identity package. Nike is now helping to promote the new image, as well as the national men's and women's teams, on NBA game-day billboards and national NBA broadcasts.

Nike is also a major sponsor and official supplier of the National Rowing Team, supplying athletes with competitive wear, leisure wear, warm-up and warm-down clothing, timing devices, and footwear. Nike also supports the Canadian Henley Regatta, the Canadian Masters Championships and the Canada Cup. In addition to supporting several key athletes on the national rowing team and using them in promotions, Nike also conducts media training to help ensure that athletes and staff are confident and comfortable dealing with the media.
