Alain Bouchard named CEO of the year

Alain Bouchard, whose Alimentation Couche-Tard company is Canada's largest convenience-store chain, was awarded Canada's Outstanding CEO of 2012 on Tuesday.
The Caldwell Partners headhunting firm and the Bennett Jones law firm honoured Bouchard at a gala in Toronto.
Bouchard has built Couche Tard into the leading corner-store company in Canada and second-largest in North America.
Couche Tard owns more than 6,000 stores and earned $23 billion in revenues last year.
Quebecor president and CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau, owner of QMI Agency and Sun Media, attended the ceremony along with Robert Depatie, CEO of Quebecor's Videotron cable subsidiary.
