Upgrade Frequently Asked Questions

Every user will fall into one of the following four categories:
  1. Possess a CANOE ID and a CanoeMail Account
  2. Possess a CANOE ID but not a CanoeMail Account
  3. Possess a CanoeMail Account but not a CANOE ID
  4. Do not possess either a CANOE ID, or a CanoeMail Account
1. I possess a CANOE ID and a CanoeMail Account

If you possess both then the synchronization process is simple. You enter your CANOE ID and CANOE Password on the login page and click Login. One-time only you will be presented with another screen that asks for your CanoeMail account name and your CanoeMail password. Once you enter those and click on the Synchronize button, your accounts will be synchronized and you will login to the new and improved CanoeMail website. From that point on you will only have to enter your CANOE ID and CANOE password to login to our free email service.

2. I possess a CANOE ID but not a CanoeMail Account

If you already have a CANOE ID, signing up for a free email account is very straight forward. From the CanoeMail homepage, click on the Signup button. From there you will be presented with a page that asks for your CANOE ID, CANOE password, and your desired choice for your email address. Once you fill out the form just click Signup and you will be automatically logged into your new email account with CanoeMail.

3. I have a CanoeMail account, but not a CANOE ID

Over the last year or so, many people have gotten free email accounts with CanoeMail. Due to the limitations of the product at the time, we could not offer our users a way in which to use ONE account for both their email needs and their other CANOE needs. All this has changed now, however. With unified registration, you will now be able to use the same login to all of our products and services that require registration.

In order to continue using your CanoeMail account, we require you to obtain a CANOE ID that will allow you access to much more than just the free email service we provide. From the login page, click on the Register button, follow through with the registration process and when finished your browser will be pointed back and the CanoeMail homepage where you would follow the instructions for category one

4. I do not have a CanoeMail account or CANOE ID

As a new user you are asked to first register for a CANOE ID. By clicking the Register button on the CanoeMail homepage, you will be taken through our registration system and given the opportunity to choose a CANOE ID. Bear in mind, the username you choose may not be available as an E-mail address when you are given the opportunity to choose it. After registering, your browser will point back to the CanoeMail homepage where you would follow the instructions for category two
