    Huge reception for Australian team

     MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) -- Australia's World Cup winning cricket team brought central Melbourne to a standstill during a ticker-tape welcome home today.
     An estimated 150,000 cheered the team as it paraded through the streets in open top cars.
     "I'm proud to be Australian today, it's just unbelievable," said captain Steve Waugh. "These are times that the players will never forget."

    Demonstrators attack Inzamam-ul Haq's home

     MULTAN, Pakistan (AP) -- About 1,000 people in eastern Punjab province burned effigies of members of the Pakistani national cricket team today, bemoaning their loss in Sunday's World Cup final in London.
     The angry demonstrators marched on the home of batsman Inzamam-ul Haq, throwing stones at Haq's home in the heart of Multan, breaking windows and causing minor damage, witnesses said.

    Waugh looks back at defining moment

     LONDON (AP) -- Skipper Steve Waugh went back to a defeat in search of the defining moment of Australia's World Cup victory.
     After his side had thrashed Pakistan on Sunday at Lord's in the most one-sided final in seven tournaments, Waugh believed that his team's gritty performance in a 10-run loss to the same Pakistan team exactly a month before was the turning point.
