Thursday, January 6, 2000 Bruins sign Jason AllisonBOSTON (AP) -- The Bruins have signed forward Jason Allison to a one-year contract extension that will keep him in Boston through next season.General manager Harry Sinden did not reveal contract terms Thursday. Allison, 24, is the team's No. 3 scorer this season with 10 goals and 18 assists in 35 games. But he has been hampered by a torn tendon in his wrist that has forced him to miss five games and led him to consider season-ending surgery. Although Allison has not made a decision on when to have the surgery, the extension was expected to convince him to finish the season before being treated. The surgery would require approximately 3-4 months of rehabilitation. "He has been playing with a torn tendon in his wrist that will require surgery and his contract status at season's end has been a concern to both of us," Sinden said. "The decision on when he will have the surgery is completely up to Jason, but at least now the contract aspect of that decision has been taken out of play." Allison has led the Bruins in scoring in each of his two full seasons with the team.
