Tuesday, December 28, 1999 Flames re-sign HousleyCALGARY (CP) -- The Calgary Flames re-signed veteran defenceman Phil Housley on Tuesday to a two-year deal with an option for a third year.Housley, a first-round draft pick in 1982, has six goals and 21 assists in 37 games this season and is second in scoring among NHL defenceman. In 1,247 NHL games, Housley has 308 goals and 794 assists. He is the all-time points leader among U.S.-born players and is two goals from passing Denis Potvin for third place on the all-time goals list for NHL defenceman. The 17-year veteran played in five consecutive all-star games from 1989 to '93.
