Wednesday, December 29, 1999 Howie not done yetTeemu Selanne wouldn't bet on this two-year extension being Phil Housley's last contract. "Howie? He could play until he's 40,'' predicted the Finnish Flash yesterday. "His legs are still there. And he's so smart. So smart. He may not be big, or tough, but he gets such great position that he doesn't have to be. "He passes the puck as well as anyone and he thinks ahead of almost everyone else. "I'm happy for Phil that he re-signed with Calgary. He told me how much he liked the city. But, being selfish, I guess, I thought he'd look pretty good with us.'' Together, of course, Selanne and Housley were an unbeatable pair in Winnipeg, attuned to the same wavelength. In '92-93, Selanne's rookie year, the Finnish gunner scored 76 goals, Housley had 79 assists. "Phil is as good as anyone making that pass out of the zone,'' marveled Selanne. "I could never figure out why he didn't get more of a chance in Washington. He had all the tools to help that team, with guys like (Peter) Bondra. "Howie's great to watch and a treat to play on the same team with.''
