Friday, October 8, 1999 It's time to show!Coach Brian Sutter was showing the premier of the latest team video entitled, What We Need To Do To Win! The Flames, winless in their first two games, cut practice short in favour of the video session to stem the team's losing ways. "Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words," said Sutter. "Some of these guys, the words go in one ear and out the other. So we show them. "When they see what they're doing, they say, 'That wasn't me.' But it was." The video highlights concentrated on the team's unwillingness to get the puck on net in the opposition zone, and to make the simple plays to get the puck out of their own end. "We just have to make sure we are doing the little things right," said veteran Jeff Shantz. "Things like taking the body and using the boards more and being more accountable to each other. It's the little stuff that will make us win. "We didn't play very well against St. Louis, particularly in the first period. Grant (Fuhr) stood on his head or it could have been 4-0 in the first. We have to be better at home now. "In a situation like this, you get away from the fundamentals that make you a good team -- the simple plays." The Flames get a good chance to turn their early fortunes around against the injury-plagued Montreal Canadiens tonight. They, too, are winless. "They may be hurt, but they've still got some talented players and Jeff Hackett in net so there's nothing guaranteed," said Shantz.
