Friday, October 1, 1999 Blackhawks re-sign Ed OlczykCHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks today re-signed veteran center Ed Olczyk.Olczyk, 33, appeared in 61 games for the Blackhawks last season, scoring 10 goals and 25 points after signing with them as a free agent. Olczyk recorded 340 goals and 450 assists in 998 career games with Chicago, Toronto, Winnipeg, the New York Rangers, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. Olczyk was taken with the third overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 1984 entry draft, behind Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh) and Kirk Muller (New Jersey). He was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic team, and played for the Rangers' 1994 Stanley Cup championship club.
