Tuesday, December 14, 1999 Avs looking forward to second halfDENVER (CP) -- The Avalanche play their 36th game of the season Dec. 23 at Buffalo. By that time, 24 of those 36 games will have been played on the road. After that, things will get easier, with 10 of the next 11 at the Pepsi Center."We like our situation. Looking at our schedule, and looking at the injury situation we've had, we're in real good shape," Avs coach Bob Hartley told the Denver Post. "We see the team improving. Our young players are really progressing, and our veteran players are doing a great job of leading by example." The Avs are 15-13-3-1 despite playing most of the first half without star centres Peter Forsberg and Joe Sakic.
