    Ribeiro facing lots of "ifs."

MONTREAL (CP) -- The Canadiens are keeping 19-year-old Mike Ribeiro for now, but general manager Rejean Houle said Sunday there are a lot of "ifs" in Ribeiro's immediate future.
Houle noted that Ribeiro might still be sent down to junior, and there's also a possibility he could represent Canada at the world junior championships next month in Sweden.
"They haven't named the team yet and nobody has asked about his availability but, depending on the circumstances with our team, we would consider releasing him for the tournament," Houle told the Montreal Gazette. "I think that would be a great experience for him."
Ribeiro has been one of the Canadiens' top 12 forwards, but with Shayne Corson and Sergei Zholtok back in the lineup and Benoit Brunet taking his first steps on the ice, Ribeiro might be a spare part by the time the junior championships roll around.
