Friday, November 26, 1999 Brunet and Brisebois back on iceMONTREAL (CP) -- Benoit Brunet and Patrice Brisebois have joined their Montreal Canadiens teammates in practice for the first time this season. Both have been idled by back injuries."If everything goes well, I can see being back in two weeks, but you never know," Brunet told the Montreal Gazette when asked when he'd be ready to play a game. "I have to see how it feels when I start working hard. The problem might come back." The Canadiens got another piece of good news when defenceman Vladimir Malakhov, who is recovering from major knee surgery, was given the OK to skate for 15 to 20 minutes every second day. Still out are: Igor Ulanov (broken foot), Turner Stevenson (back), Saku Koivu (shoulder), and Brian Savage, who is at home with a full body brace to support a broken back.
