Thursday, November 4, 1999 Ulanov fractures footMONTREAL (CP) -- Defenceman Igor Ulanov was added to the Montreal Canadiens staggering list of injuries on Thursday.Ulanov suffered a hairline fracture of the left foot when he blocked a shot in Montreal's 3-2 loss in New Jersey on Wednesday night. Ulanov was to miss a game Thursday night against the Islanders in Uniondale, N.Y., and will be re-examined in Montreal once the swelling goes down, a spokesman said. Other Canadiens currently out of action are defencemen Vladimir Malakhov (torn knee ligaments), Patrice Brisebois (back surgery), and Craig Rivet (virus) and forwards Saku Koivu (sprained shoulder) and Benoit Brunet (sore back). Seven others have missed between one and 10 games with injuries or illness.
