    Predators trade for Yachmenev

     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CP) -- The expansion Nashville Predators acquired right-winger Vitali Yachmenev from the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday in a trade for future considerations.
     Yachmenev, 23, had one assist in four games with the Kings last season before he was sent to Long Beach of the International Hockey League, where he had 23 goals and 28 assists in 59 games.
     The five-foot-nine, 191-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, scored 19 goals and added 34 assists as an NHL rookie playing with Wayne Gretzky in 1995-96.
     Yachmenev played junior hockey with the North Bay Centennials of the Ontario Hockey League.
