    Yashin to Chicago makes sense

CHICAGO (CP) -- A trade to the Chicago Blackhawks makes sense for Alexei Yashin, his agent says.

Mark Gandler has heard a lot of rumours concerning his client, who is holding out from the Ottawa Senators. But this one could bear fruit, he says.

The Ottawa Sun reported that the Senators might trade Yashin to the Hawks for defenceman Bryan McCabe, right-winger Eric Daze and a first-round pick.

"This seems believable to me," Gandler told the Chicago Sun-Times. "(Hawks general manager Bob Murray) probably needs to do something to get the team in the right direction. It seems like they have the right personnel, but it's not working.

"(Yashin) has been on teams that have not succeeded. He can make the difference. It's not only the play of the player, but the confidence everyone gets from having that player. The first line is set, and everyone knows who's going on the ice every time."

Ottawa is looking for a defenceman after losing Sami Salo for eight to 10 weeks due to a broken wrist.
