Sunday, October 24, 1999 Sens, Juneau deal may be taking shapeWord is Ottawa has offered the 31-year-old veteran a two-year contract worth $4.4 million US including incentives. The contract would pay Juneau $1.8 million this season, and $2.6 million next year. The only matter to be resolved is the Senators' request not to pay Juneau while he trains to get back in shape. It's believed the deal is done, but Juneau needs a few weeks to get in shape after being off skates for a month while trying to find a new team. Two other teams -- Buffalo and Washington -- are still trying to sign him. Juneau began last season with Washington but was dealt to the Sabres last March. He scored just one goal in nine games with the Sabres, but was more productive in the playoffs with three goals and 11 points in 20 games. Juneau, a native of Pont-Rouge, Que., broke into the NHL with Boston after representing Canada at the 1992 Olympics in Albertville. In his first full season with the Bruins, Juneau scored 32 goals and 102 points, the only 100-point year of his career.
