Monday, October 25, 1999 Sens skate shows power
"There's absolutely nothing else in this community that has this kind of draw," said Michael Allen, president of the United Way of Ottawa-Carleton, which hosted a day of skating at the Corel Centre with members of the Sens. Radek Bonk, Ron Tugnutt, Marian Hossa and rookie Mike Fisher were among the players on hand to honour donors who have given $1,000 or more. The third annual event drew about 1,500 people, proving that "the Ottawa Senators are a tremendously powerful draw. "This kind of event gives a good portrait of the power the Sens have," said Allen.
