Sens snubbed by Expos
NEW YORK (CP) -- The Montreal Expos seemed oblivious to a clubhouse visit by the Ottawa Senators after the Expos' final game of the season in Philadelphia on Sunday.The Expos public relations staff had arranged the visit, but only three players -- Anthony Telford, Ryan McGwire and Steve Kline -- took the time to say hello to the visiting Senators.
"Don't call me, I'll call you," shouted closer Ugueth Urbina to his teammates as he exited the clubhouse for the final time in the 1999 season.
"I was shocked," a Senators player told the Ottawa Sun. "I don't know what to say. I've never seen anything like that before."
