Roenick, Theodore share weekly award honours
NEW YORK (CP) -- Phoenix Coyotes centre Jeremy Roenick and Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jose Theodore have been named co-winners of the NHL player of the week award.Roenick led all NHL scorers with nine points (six goals, three assists) in three games, including back-to-back hat tricks. Theodore, meanwhile, went 3-0-0 with a 1.31 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage to help the Canadiens extend their winning streak to four games.
Also considered for the award were Tampa Bay Lightning centre Vincent Lecavalier (2-5-7 in four games) and Pittsburgh Penguins right-winger Jaromir Jagr (5-1-6 in three games).
