Brad Ralph impresses at Coyotes camp

PHOENIX, Ariz. (CP) -- Rookie Brad Ralph is making a good impression at the Phoenix Coyotes training camp.
"Ralph, this kid, is a goal-scorer," Coyotes coach Bob Francis told the Arizona Republic. "In scrimmages you don't really notice him, but what you do notice is that he scores every scrimmage. He's young and he has things he needs to work on, but he's a definite prospect."
Ralph, a six-foot-two, 198-pound left-winger, was the Coyotes' third draft choice (53rd overall).
"We said before the draft that he would be a first-round pick. We were thrilled to get him in the second round," general manager Bobby Smith said. "He has been terrific, but he's a young player who has a ways to go before he's ready to compete at this level. But we've been very impressed with everything we've seen this summer."
Ralph knows he's ticketed to return to Oshawa in the Ontario Hockey League, where he scored 31 goals and had 44 assists last year but believes the experience playing with the big guys is invaluable.
"Just coming here and playing at higher level will help me," Ralph said. "It would help anyone."
