LOUIS (Ticker) -- All-Star left wing Pavel Demitra of the St. Louis Blues was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday due to a strained triceps in his left arm.The move was made retroactive to Sunday and will leave St. Louis without its leading goal scorer for at least two games. Demitra is eligible to return Monday against the New York Rangers. Demitra suffered the injury while taking a slap shot in a 3-2 loss to Nashville on Sunday. He will sit out tonight's home game against San Jose and Saturday night's visit to Washington. Taking Demitra's spot in the lineup is right wing Jim Campbell, who was recalled from Worcester of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Demitra leads the team with 16 goals, including a club-best six on the power play, and is second to Pierre Turgeon with 37 points. He also has a plus-12 rating and just two penalty minutes this season. The 25-year-old emerged as one of the best players in the league last season, when he finished 10th in points (89) and assists (52), 13th in goals (37), eighth in power-play tallies (14) and second in game-winners (10). Campbell scored 45 goals between the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons, but he had just four in 1998-99 and has yet to play with the Blues this season. He had 13 goals and 14 assists in 22 games at Worcester.
