Monday, October 25, 1999 Blues go after GuerinST. LOUIS (CP) -- The St. Louis Blues have reportedly made a pitch for Edmonton Oilers restricted free agent Bill Guerin, whose negotiations with the Oilers have been going nowhere. The Blues have offered Edmonton a combination of draft picks and players for Guerin, although St. Louis general manager Larry Pleau is not keen on paying Guerin $3 million a year, either. "He's a good player. But last year was the only time he got 30 (goals)," Pleau told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "As far as I'm concerned he's asking too much money."
