    Lightning claim Martins off waivers

     TAMPA, Fla. (CP) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning claimed Senators forward Steve Martins off waivers Friday and traded defenceman Mikko Kuparinen to the Atlanta Thrashers for future considerations.
     Martins was put on waivers by the Senators on Wednesday to make room for newly signed forward Joe Juneau, signed as a free agent last Sunday.
     Martins, 27, had one goal in two games with Ottawa this season. He had four goals and three assists in 36 games last year.
     In Tampa, Martins re-joins general manager Rick Dudley, who was GM in Ottawa last season.
