Thursday, January 6, 2000 Canucks call up VaicVANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- The slumping Vancouver Canucks called up center Lubomir Vaic from the minors Thursday, and sent down center Josh Holden and defenseman Zenith Komarniski.Vaic, back in the Canucks system after spending last season in his native Slovakia, has nine goals and 26 points with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Previously, the Canucks' draft pick played five NHL games with Vancouver and had one goal and one assist. Holden, who underwent hernia surgery last fall, played in two games with a goal and an assist since the Canucks called him up Dec. 19. Komarniski, a rookie, had one goal and an assist in 15 games with the Canucks. The moves come as the Canucks, 1-9-2 in their last 12 games, embark on a four game road trip which begins in Dallas on Friday.
