    Cat on fire for Canucks

VANCOUVER (CP) -- Canucks goalie Felix Potvin appears to be rediscovering the form that made him one of the NHL's best in the mid-90's with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"He's been playing great," defenceman Mattias Ohlund told the Vancouver Province. "He's been playing well for us for a long time. I'm glad to see him getting more confidence. He's going to be great here."

Vancouver is 5-1-2 in its last eight games, thanks mostly to Potvin. The defence is playing well and the forwards are sticking to a tight defensive system.

"They've done a good job making me feel comfortable," Potvin said of Canucks management, coaching staff and teammates. "It helps when you get to know the guys you're playing with. I hadn't played with many of these players before."

He's also loving Vancouver much more than Uniondale, N.Y.

"Oh definitely," he said. "Vancouver's a good hockey city and as far as the team is concerned, it's an experienced team that has a chance to win every game."
