Friday, October 15, 1999 Canucks goalie out with fractured fingerVANCOUVER (CP) -- Garth Snow, the Vancouver Canucks' No. 1 goaltender, is out indefinitely with a broken index finger on his blocking hand, the NHL team announced prior to Friday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.Snow was injured during Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames. Snow finished the game, stopping 22 shots. It was only his second appearance of the season after missing the first two games with a groin injury. Backup goalie Kevin Weekes started against the Hurricanes, while the Canucks called up Alfie Michaud from their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. Michaud, last spring's Final Four MVP after leading Maine to the NCAA championship, has a 1-2 record and 2.36 goals-against average with the Crunch.
